TUL Exhibits at NBAA-BACE – Focus on Development
November 1, 2016 – Tulsa International Airport is exhibiting at the world’s largest business aviation event in Orlando, FL. The National Business Aviation Association’s Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition includes participation of over 1,100 exhibitors and over 27,000 industry professionals including aircraft owners, manufacturers, and suppliers from across the globe.
TUL officials are using the convention as a platform to bring national attention to the 700+ acres of real estate that is available for development at the Airport. There are currently 75 aerospace companies on airport property, including Lufthansa Technik Component Services, L3 Aeromet, Spirit AeroSystems, Triumph Group, and American Airlines.
“Tulsa International Airport is a prime target for companies wanting to grow their operations in a central location,” said Alexis Higgins, Deputy Director of Marketing and Community Relations. “We have all of the resources that aviation firms are looking for including multiple runways offering a variety of precision and non-precision approaches, five FBO’s that provide specialized maintenance and competitively priced fueling services, and four local aviation training centers. We believe Tulsa is the home of aviation maintenance and we want attendees to know they are welcome to join our aviation community.”
In addition to highlighting strategic airport development initiatives, Higgins informed convention attendees of the newly created tax increment financing (TIF) districts that will be used to support private and public investments. Airport officials anticipate the districts will result in increased utilization of airport resources and long-term sustainable growth that strengthens the surrounding aviation network. The convention runs through Thursday.
