American Airlines Launches New Non-Stop Service to Charlotte from Tulsa

TULSA, OK – July 2, 2014 –American Airlines today began new service between Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Tulsa International Airport (TUL).


The new service, operated as US Airways Express, provides customers in Tulsa with additional access to the carrier’s extensive global network, with nonstop connections from Charlotte to destinations throughout the U.S., Europe and Latin America. In Charlotte, American offers 645 daily departures to more than 140 destinations in more than 20 countries. Charlotte is American’s second largest hub and the eighth largest airport in the United States.


“Non-stop service to Charlotte provides greater flexibility for Tulsa travelers headed to international destinations,” Tulsa Mayor Dewey F. Bartlett Jr. said. “I would like to thank American Airlines for its continued support of this community and the impact it continues to make in Tulsa.”


Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust Chair, Mary Smith, echoed the Mayor’s sentiment, “Our passengers have expressed an interest in service to Charlotte for several years because of the connection options that are offered both domestically and internationally. This news is great for Tulsa and for our travelers who will benefit from the added convenience of additional eastbound service.” Charlotte will be the 16th city served from TUL.


The flight will be operated by American Airlines Group’s wholly owned subsidiary PSA Airlines with a Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft on the following twice-daily schedule:
