US Airways Announces Non-stop Service to Charlotte
American Airlines and US Airways today announced the addition of new regional service this summer from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to Tulsa International Airport (TUL).
The new service, which begins July 2, will provide customers in Tulsa with additional access to the combined carrier’s extensive global network, with nonstop connections from Charlotte to destinations throughout the U.S., Europe and Latin America. In Charlotte, American and US Airways offer 645 daily departures to more than 140 destinations in more than 20 countries. Charlotte is American’s second largest hub.
“This new non-stop service will be a great addition to Tulsa and gives our travelers the opportunity to have a direct connection to major hubs throughout the U.S. and to international destinations,” Tulsa Mayor Dewey F. Bartlett Jr. said. “I would like to thank American Airlines and US Airways for their continued support of this community and the impact they continue to make in Tulsa.”
Tulsa International Airport Director, Jeff Mulder, echoed the Mayor’s sentiment, “Our passengers have expressed an interest in service to Charlotte for several years because of the connection options that are offered by US Airways. This news is great for Tulsa and for our travelers who will benefit from the added convenience of additional east bound service.” Charlotte service will be the seventeenth city served from TUL.
US Airways Express service between Tulsa and Charlotte will be operated by wholly owned subsidiary PSA Airlines with a Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft on the following twice-daily schedule:
